How to Find the Owner of a Phone Number

If you’re getting prank calls or if you find a number on you caller identification that you don’t recognize, you probably want to find out who is behind that number.  The good news is that finding the owner of a phone number is easier than you might think with Reverse Phone Detective!

As long as you have the area code and the seven digit number, you should be able to locate any number’s owner, if you know where to look.

Searching For That Number

Your first stop should be a free reverse phone number directory.  Plenty of them are available on the Internet.  At the site, you’ll enter the entire number including the area code and hit “Search.” If the number is a published land line, you should get the information you want, including the name of the owner and the entire address of the owner.

If you’re lucky enough to get results, then your search can stop there.  In most cases, you’ll need to try a slightly different approach.

Usually, the reason you’ll run into problems is that the number belongs to a cell phone.  Because there is no central database of cell phone numbers, free reverse phone directories cannot return information on those numbers.  You also won’t be able to get information on landline numbers that are unlisted or non-published.

Don’t bother trying multiple reverse phone directories in order to find the owner of a phone number, either.  Most use the same databases, so if you don’t score results at one then you won’t fare any better at another site.

Android And The Google Phone

-->

Google recently acquired Jaiku, a Finnish business, who reserved a number of Short Message Service Patents (SMS), that is the technology that enables the exchanging of brief messages between cell phones.

Google currently holds a 29 percent portion of the US market above 16% to Yahoo according to internet marketing research business eMarketer, and would want nothing more than to master the mobile device market such as mobile phones, Blackberries and more, including their own GPhone. After this news Google’s stock rose to a huge $600 per share recently, reflecting that Google’s net profit may climb to as steep as fifty percent over last year’s numbers.

In the beginning of November that expectation was shot down as Google, along with an alliance of mobile phone-related reverse cell phone directory businesses, expressed its cellular phone design was not for one handset. Instead, the business is planning to produce a platform, or operating system, that will grant wider functionality to all mobile telephones. The establishment of the Open Handset Alliance (OHA), that includes such industry behemoths such as Motorola, T-Mobile, Samsung and O2’s parent Telephonica, is gathering to support Google’s venture, called Android.

Android is determined to be the next multi-platform mobile software system that is able to run on several different handsets. It desires to bring not merely an operating system but also middleware and key applications. Legions of Google’s most popular applications like GMail and Google Maps already have mobile versions phone owners can run through Java. Android intends to create applications like this more operational on cell phones but also to provide a fuller internet experience on the go.

For those unfortunate people who are simply incapable of writing something in Java (the Android programming language), one of the substantial number of other handsets that are on hand will suffice, since there will nonetheless be a wide assortment of features to keep one running.

Good Cell Phone Batteries Can Keep You In Touch

-->

In a mobile society, the world seems to operate by battery power and when the indicator on your cell phone shows the battery is running out of power it can be a disquieting experience. Nothing like the little beep that says your battery is dead but nearly as devastating as the message on the screen that says low power, shutting down now. While the life of cell phone batteries has greatly improved over the past couple of years, there are a few tricks to squeezing every drop of power out of them.

One of the challenges for cell phone users is that nearly every brand and many models of the same brand all use different cell phone batteries, making them not interchangeable. When the battery runs out of juice and you do not have a spare pr a charger handy, you are generally going to be out of touch. Buying second cell phone batteries and keeping them charged is one way to make sure you can salvage your communications, but most of these batteries are not cheap.

Many boast lasting power of three and even four days when on standby, but this can be misleading once you understand how your cell phone works and how the life of the cell phone batteries can be sucked dry without you even knowing.

Continuous Search Uses Battery Power

When your phone is turned on, whether making a call or not, it is constantly attempting to contact a cell phone tower. When you travel into areas that are not in your calling range, what some would consider roaming, it takes more power from the cell phone batteries to search for a connection than if it was connected to a tower on your network.

The simple act of searching for a connection can drain the cell phone batteries of an unused phone in only a few hours, not days as the manufacturer likes to brag. When traveling and you are not expecting any calls, turn off the phone. This way when you pass into roaming mode areas, no power will be drained from the cell phone batteries.

Additionally, properly preparing your cell phone batteries for the first use will insure that subsequent charges are complete. When you first open the package the instructions call for the battery to be charged a minimum number of hours. Once it is fully charged, turn on the phone and plays games or some other activity to completely drain the battery. Go ahead and make a few calls to help get the power level down to zero. Then charge it again. This way when you charge the cell phone batteries in the future, the memory will be on full and will completely charge.

At the end of the day you will surely love the button camera or the telephone voice changer.
