What's Happening With Cell Phones

Why Is Everyone Buying An Apple iPhone These Days?

-->

Apple has always been a step ahead with its Mac operating system as opposed to Windows, the Apple computer as compared to the PC and now the Apple iPhone everyone is buying – or at least yearning to buy.

Coolness Factor

One of the main reasons everyone is on the "I'm buying an Apple iPhone" bandwagon is that it is the most "in" thing in technology today. The 3.5 inch screen. The hi-tech touch screen features and the awesome way you can just slide from frame to frame is unparalleled by any other phone.

Sure, the BlackBerry has its ardent admirers too including the 44th president of the United States, the variety in applications that you get by buying an Apple iPhone is nearly infinite.

New applications arrive every day. From your favorite TV show quiz game like Wheel of Fortune or Deal or No Deal to classics like Scrabble and Uno, the Apple iPhone has it. From maps and directions to global positioning systems and yellow pages, the Apple iPhone has that too.

With so many cell phone companies offering unlimited text and picture messages for a fixed monthly fee, everyone is buying an Apple iPhone as they can text easily with its touch screen keypad (for those who hit the wrong key repeatedly, you can use a stylus!)

Buying Apple iPhone Applications

Although the fun and games are not all free, men, women and youth are buying Apple iPhone applications because they are justifying it by not buying other things. For example, the handy husband has a level application on his Apple iPhone so he doesn’t need the new laser level when hanging a picture for his wife. The frustrated mom doesn’t need to tote around Nintendo DS games and Leapsters to the Doctors office as her kids can play on her Apple iPhone while they wait. The busy executive does not need a diary or writing paper everywhere as he can just jot down notes easily on the – you guessed it, Apple iPhone.

And even the best things do get better. If you thought the Apple iPhone was everything you needed in a  phone, now your best friend has bought the new Apple iPhone. You can update your FaceBook status, watch videos on YouTube and much more at lightning speed with just with a few slides of the screen. The new Apple iPhone 3G is your trusted phone – only faster! So what are you waiting for?

Iphone GPS

-->

It is unfortunate that there is no iPhone GPS capability at present and nor is it going to become a reality very soon and the reason for this could be that the GPS does not figure in the list of desired iPhone features. In fact, it is rather unfortunate because most users of the iPhone would certainly welcome having iPhone GPS and what’s worse is the fact that there won’t even also be any way to connect a Bluetooth GPS receiver to your iPhone, and nor is it going to be possible to install any different type of GPS on your iPhone.

Not A Requirement

Unfortunately, even the FCC does not really require that the new model phones (including the iPhone) should have GPS in their feature sets. In fact, if you are wondering that even though there is no iPhone GPS, would it still be possible to use its Bluetooth capability to connect to a Bluetooth GPS receiver. Here again, the answer seems to indicate that it is not necessarily a possibility because simply having a pair of Bluetooth devices does not necessarily add up to being able to communicate as well as work with either device though they must be able to share what is known as a profile.

In fact, the Bluetooth GPS devices make use of serial profiles which in actual fact precludes the possibility of connecting your iPhone with a Bluetooth GPS. However, all is not lost because both Apple as well as Cingular are putting their joint efforts into working on applications for iPhones that should see, in a matter of some months or even years, the possibility of iPhone GPS becoming a reality.

What it all boils down to is that in the present and also in the foreseeable future, buyers will have to make do without iPhone GPS and they may in fact, have to contend with only using Google Maps. It is thus best to only hope that Apple and Cingular can together come up with something to solve this problem.

However, there are other rumors doing the rounds that relate to Navizon iPhone GPS, and according to the founder as also CEO of Mexens Technology, you would in fact get some sort of simulation of iPhone GPS if you were to install their software and then hit a button called Locate Me, which would give users of the iPhone their location on the map and also give directions pertaining to another destination.

Thus, it seems that though it may be possible to simulate a kind of iPhone GPS, for the near term it does not seem possible that users will get the advantage of having iPhone GPS capability.

Just Some of the iPhone Features

-->

Many people have heard of the iPhone and some people own them.  But for the vast majority of people that cannot afford an iPhone right now it looks like a high end tech toy that no one really needs but yet everyone really wants.  So what are some of the iPhone features?  What can this thing really do?  What is all the hype about?  Let’s look at just a few of the iPhone features.

Surfing the Internet

One of the more widely publicized of the iPhone features is that you can surf the internet on a small, but extremely clear, screen in the middle of the iPhone.  The iPhone does everything through its screen so the images are larger than on any other cell phone.  Surfing the internet on an iPhone, with its clear screen and 8GB if memory, is an experience unlike anything else you have ever seen on any other cell phone.  You can check your email or watch a Youtube video all from this wonderful little phone.

Synchronizing Your Favorites

A little known iPhone feature that goes along with the ability to surf the internet is the ability to synchronize your favorites list from your Mac or PC internet browser with your iPhone so that the websites you have bookmarked at home also appear on your iPhone.  It is just one more way you can take your home PC or Mac out into the world with you on your iPhone.

Built-in Search Engines

As part of the iPhone features that are designed to make everything as one touch as possible the popular Google and Yahoo! Search engines are built in to the iPhone software.  Getting to your favorite search engine is as easy as the touch of one button with this kind of an iPhone feature.

Don’t Forget the Pictures

Another iPhone features is photo taking and storage.  With the iPhone you have something that is much better than the grainy and hard to see screens that you have on other cell phones.  The iPhone makes it so easy to take photos, store them, and then share them with other people.  Plus the screen quality on the iPhone also makes it so much easier to see your photos than on any other cell phone.

Oh Yeah, it’s a Phone Too

Through all of that it is easy to forget that even though it is called an iPhone that it is also a phone as well.  You can talk on the phone while surfing the internet, looking at photos, or just as a phone conversation.  The flexibility is pretty amazing and the quality on the iPhone for everything from phone voice clarity to picture sharpness is second to none.

You Can Expect Good Things From iPhone Earphones

With every iPhone you will get Apple’s specially created and some would even go as far as saying its iconic iPhone earphones that are stylish and embody the best of new generation technology and which were first introduced with the iPod Nano. In any case, a notable feature with regard to iPhone earphones is that they come with a mic and they are also extremely high quality earphones that are way beyond what you would normally get in a mobile device.

High Fidelity Sound

There is a lot to say for the iPhone earphones including their high fidelity sound capability which makes it possible to hear everything and the mic is certainly one that has superior quality which ensures that you get sounds without any kind of distortion. In fact, the mic acts like a controller that means that by squeezing it between the fingers, you can get to pause or unpause the iPod playback and by squeezing twice you can even skip to the next song.

The only downside to the iPhone earphones is that they don’t have the kind of bass that you would want and they are not quite as loud or clear as compared to some of the better earphones available on the market. However, if you choose to go with something that is not an Apple iPhone earphones you can do so provided you use an adaptor with which you can get around the difficulty in connecting such earphones into the headphone socket in the iPhone.

The fact is that you just need to lay your hands on the proper headphone port adapter after which you can then literally choose from hundreds of different iPhone compatible earphones and thus save yourself the bother of spending almost thirty dollars to buy the original iPhone earphones. In fact, for a lower cost, you get the same kind of sound and you just need to be in luck in finding earphones that will suit your ears.

However, if you choose to buy the original iPhone earphones, you would get a rather soft design and you also get something that will certainly help enhance the sound quality and could in fact prove to be better balance as compared to some of the cheaper alternatives available on the market today. There are plenty of good deep sounds, though sound quality may skew a bit on the lower end of the sound spectrum, but you can still hear low frequency sounds quite well.

There may, however, be a bit of a problem with fitting them into your ears though once you get the earphones into your ears you will find that Apple has really done a good job. You will be able to hear just the type of sounds that you would wish to hear from a good pair of earphones.
